I was with my boyfriend for about a year. He was like my best friend. Everything was perfect...well for me at least. Without any explanation he told me he wasn't ready for a relationship and he hoped we could still be friends. I felt betrayed and depressed. I just keep thinking there must have been something wrong with me. I couldn’t understand what went wrong. It hurt so much.
I couldn't let go I loved him so much. I tried to get him to talk to me about it but all he would say is that I needed to move on. I started to vent to my friends and eventually they left me as well.
When I had no-one to talk to I decided to email Kids Helpline.
Talking to a counsellor helped me because I could be honest and they didn't judge me like my friends did. I eventually got my friends back. With the support of my counsellor I started to move on. Even though it hurts and I still love him we're friends now too.
