Stepdad abused me

When I was just 7 years old, my stepdad abused me every night until I turned 10. I was then diagnosed with severe depression and a severe anxiety/panic disorder.
I still live with my stepdad and still see him everyday, and it's true you know, you never can really forget something like this. I had been searching everywhere for help, then one day I couldn't take it anymore and tried self harm. I then rang Kids Helpline after I did it and they helped me through.
I am safe now, I no longer have that cruel thing happen to me, and I forgive him, but I will never forget what happened to me. If anything like this has happened to you, please get help, because it will never get better if you keep quiet. Xx
