Called me gay (12 year old boy)
I started high school this year. I was getting called gay because I enjoyed singing and dancing. I really didn't appreciate it and it made me so upset that I was afraid to tell anyone. I remember going home everyday thinking about it and after 1 month it clicked to me. I had to do something.
But when i was going to go and tell my parents I got so embarrassed that I walked away. I got counselling at school but they didn't care that much and I was way too scared to tell one of the teachers. A couple of days after that I told one of my friends and they took me up to the principal to talk about it and they did tell the people who were bullying me that they did something bad and they did get into trouble.
But I still know that they call me gay. Then I found out about the Kids Helpline and they talked me through it and they gave me confidence to be my happy self once again. Just remember to tell someone what's going on.
