Learning From Your Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes

No matter how hard we may try to always do things right, making mistakes is a part of life, whether we are young or old.

Some kids don't like to admit that they may be wrong or that they have done something that they are not supposed to do. This can be because they are afraid of what other people might think of them or because they think they have to be perfect all the time.

Sometimes it's hard to admit to having made a mistake especially if it is a big one. It is better though, to just admit to your mistake and then try to find a way to make it right, rather than trying to hide it. Hiding mistakes can sometimes turn little mistakes into bigger ones that are even harder to fix!

Because everyone makes mistakes from time to time and because making mistakes is part of learning to do things better, it's important that you aren't too hard on yourself or too discouraged when a mistake happens. When you make a mistake, you get to choose whether you feel bad about yourself and the fact that you made a mistake OR whether you learn from your mistake and figure out how to do things better next time.

What do you usually choose to do?
