Family Separation
Changes
Often (but not always) there are lots of changes when parents separate. You might have to:
- move to a new house
- change schools
- be away from friends and relatives
- start after school care because mum or dad has to work longer hours
Most change isn't all bad or all good - it's usually a bit of both! Some of the changes that happen when mum and dad separate might feel really hard and sad (like missing some of your old familiar things) and some of them might feel new and exciting (like making new friends or moving to a new house).
If the changes scare or worry you, it might be useful to talk to someone about those feelings, so they can help you sort out the best way to handle things.
